Individual therapy in-person in Seattle, WA and online across Washington
I integrate somatic and physiological approaches to help you build greater capacity to respond to yourself and your life with clarity, resilience, and ease.
Courtney Palmer, LMHCA
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA). I hold a Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Seattle Central College and a Master's degree in Psychology from Seattle University. I'm currently training to become a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, a modality that aligns with my belief in the body’s innate ability to heal.
I was born and raised in Michigan but have proudly called Seattle home for the past 20 years. During my time in school, I worked with New Beginnings as a Domestic Violence Advocate—a role that deepened my passion for supporting survivors as they rebuild their lives.
In addition to my clinical work, I’m a dedicated yoga teacher and lifelong student. The practice of yoga played a transformative role in my own journey and ultimately led me to the work I do today. I also have a deep love for dance—you’ll often find me moving to loud music in safe, joyful spaces surrounded by incredible people most weekends.
I thrive on connection, authenticity, and new experiences. I love walking alongside others on their path toward healing and growth. I have a deep respect for those who choose the sacred journey of healing. It is not often easy, but it is always worth it.
My Approach
Collaborative
I approach each session with presence and curiosity and seek to hold space to allow for the innate knowing of your parts that are ready to be healed. I honor your unique wisdom and together we will discover a path towards healing.
Somatic
I believe in the innate wisdom of the body to heal itself. Somatic therapy is based on the understanding that our bodies store emotional experiences, and by tuning into bodily sensations, we can unlock powerful insights and healing.
Existential
We all do this being a human thing a little differently. Together, we will explore what your experiences of grief, loneliness, isolation, and anxiety may be telling you about your life and where it may possible to change these conditions.
